Our favourite places to unwind

Elephant and Castle's wine scene might not be as well-known as other parts of London, but there are still plenty of places where you can find a glass (or bottle) of great wine. Whether you're after a casual glass or a more immersive wine experience, these spots are a great place to start!

Here are some of the best places for wine in and around Elephant and Castle:

Their wine list includes natural, biodynamic, and organic options, making it a great choice for those seeking something a little different. The staff is knowledgeable and happy to recommend pairings.

The Camberwell Arms

Their wine list is carefully curated, and you’ll find some interesting selections, including smaller producers and natural wines. The warm and intimate atmosphere makes it a great place to relax.

Bar Story

Location: 213 Deptford High St, SE8 3NT (a bit further but still within reach)

They often host events, so it’s a great spot if you're looking for a place with a bit of energy and character.

Bistrotheque

The House of Commons Wine Bar

Location: Located in the Elephant and Castle Shopping Centre, a hidden gem in the heart of the area.

The Wine Tasting Room

Location: Near Borough Market (just a short bus ride from Elephant and Castle)
Vibe: A little outside Elephant & Castle, but a wonderful spot for wine enthusiasts. They offer tastings, and you can sample a curated selection of wines. It's a more educational approach to wine, which might appeal to those looking for an experience as well as just a drink.

Fowlds Wine Bar

Location: 17a Newington Causeway, London, SE1 6DR
Vibe: Located very close to Elephant & Castle, Fowlds Wine Bar offers a great selection of wines with an intimate feel. It’s a small bar with a friendly atmosphere, perfect for a casual drink or a wine-tasting experience.

Vagabond Wines (Clapham)

Location: 1 The Polygon, Clapham, SW4 0JG (a short journey from Elephant)

The Royal Oak

Location: 73 Tabard St, London SE1 4LA
